MiroPell APPLICATION

Clean the horse box for the use of MiroPell

Before MiroPell can be used in the box, the box must be thoroughly cleaned. In our example, we are assuming a box measuring 3 x 4 meters, i.e. 12 square meters.

After thorough mucking out, we recommend letting the bottom of the box dry and treating it with microorganisms. Effective microorganisms clean the box of substances that cause stink in the horse box. These include ammonia gases, urea, fungi and bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria, yeast fungi, photosynthesis bacteria and benign types of fungi fight against them. This "task force" ferments organic substances and forms acids, vitamins, amino acids, alcohol and esters that give harmful germs, vermin and gases no chance to develop.

Distribute MiroPell in the horse box

After thorough cleaning, MiroPell goes into the box. We recommend a filling height of seven centimeters as basic litter. For a 12 square meter box, this corresponds to around 150 kg of MiroPell litter, i.e. around 10 to 12 sacks of MiroPell pellets. The closed bags can be carried into the box and opened there. This means that there is no more dirt in the stable aisle and you save yourself sweeping.

Distribute your desired amount of MiroPell pellets evenly in the box. You can use a fork to distribute it, you can work more effectively with a bulb fork or a rake.

Moisten the surface of MiroPell

Finally, fill a watering can with a capacity of 10 liters and pour it over the surface of the litter. The MiroPell pellets on the surface swell up after a few minutes and form an initial fluffy litter layer. The remaining pellets are dissolved by the horse's droppings and movement. With regard to wetting, we recommend: Less is more! The wetter the bedding is at the beginning, the less moisture it can absorb. Superficially moistened, the bottom pellets retain their full liquid storage capacity. Miscanthus pellets can absorb up to 400 times their own weight in liquid.

MiroPell – Ready for the horse

This basic mat can stay in the box for up to 180 days or more, depending on how the animal is kept, depending on the care and regulation of the stable. Thanks to its high absorbency, pH neutrality and good odor control, MiroPell is so productive as litter. We recommend adding one to two sacks of MiroPell bedding to the bedding box per week to freshen up the mat. With our Miscanthus pellets you save a large amount of manure volume. In the best case, our pallet with 44 bags lasts almost nine months.

MiroPell in daily care

The horse droppings can be quickly and easily collected from the box every day with a drop fork or the Mistboy. So you significantly reduce your manure time – and the amount of manure too. Very wet areas should be cut out and filled with fresh MiroPell litter. The same applies here: less is more. Because the pellets swell and thereby multiply their volume. In summer you can simply let the wet spots dry in a wheelbarrow in the sun and put them back in the box. The mat should also be loosened up daily.

ABOUT MiroPell

MiroPell – what is in the pellet?

MiroPell is a sustainable, hygienic and environmentally friendly bedding for the horse box, the chicken or rodent house and the litter box. The pellets are pressed from Miscanthus. Miscanthus already has a residual moisture content of almost 10 percent at the time of harvest and is pH-neutral. This environment is uninteresting for fungi, germs and other pests. The chaff is pressed into pellets with a lot of pressure. During this process, heat is generated, which removes the remaining residual moisture from the product. What remains are about two centimeters in size, low-dust, highly absorbent pellets that are not an interesting breeding ground for harmful germs. Miscanthus pellets can absorb up to 400 times their own weight in water. The pellets swell when combined with water and thus form a cozy mat in the horse box, in the chicken coop or in the litter box.

MiroPell - This is how the pellet becomes a cozy bed

The finished pellets are packed in food-safe bags. The 15 kg sacks can be easily transported - including in the car. A pallet of MiroPell litter measuring 80 x 120 centimeters includes 44 15 kg bags of Miropell and is sufficient for around three quarters of a year, depending on the horse.

The Miscanthus pellets can be transported directly into the box in a sack, in a bucket or in a wheelbarrow without any crumbs - so you don't even have to sweep the stable aisle after bedding.

We recommend around 150 kg of bedding to make the first mattress for a 12 square meter horse box. That corresponds to around ten to twelve sacks of MiroPell bedding. The pellets are distributed roughly in the box and moistened with a little water. Within a few days, the movement of the horse and its excretions from the miscanthus pellets form a pleasantly soft, dry mattress.

Good air for allergy sufferers thanks to MiroPell

The process of harvesting and pressing the Miscanthus chaff is therefore a dry affair right from the field. MiroPell is, so to speak, a highly absorbent bedding by nature. It is therefore ideally suited as bedding for horses, rodents and cats that are allergic to dust or are already suffering from a cough, bronchitis or a lung disease.

In addition, our MiroPell Miscanthus pellets bind the smell of ammonia very well and thus ensure a good climate in the barn. The respiratory tract of horse and human also remain protected. And even more: Miscanthus is very good for the climate even before the harvest. One hectare of Miscanthus converts around 35 tons of CO 2 per year and thus ensures clean air.

Healthy hooves thanks to MiroPell

With straw and shavings, urine runs to the bottom of the box and collects there. Not only does it create a slip hazard, it is also a source of hoof disease. This is different with MiroPell. Our miscanthus pellets absorb and bind the urine. This ensures a good climate in the horse box and a non-slip surface that is not harmful to the hoof. Thrush and mallenders have little chance of developing. If your horse is already suffering from one of these diseases, switching to MiroPell can help your animal to recover.

MiroPell ensures less manure and good fertilizer

With MiroPell you significantly reduce the daily cleaning time and the amount of manure. Miscanthus is 100 percent biodegradable. Its pH neutrality means that it does not become acidic - as is the case with wood chips and pellets, for example. This makes the MiroPell litter a high-quality fertilizer for the field and can be fully utilized in biogas plants. This makes manure disposal easy, cheap and extremely attractive for farmers in arable farming. If you use MiroPell for your rodents, you can simply dispose of the litter in the bio bin or composter. In this regard, please observe the regional disposal regulations.

MiroPell gives you more time with the horse

Daily cleaning of the horse stall is just as quick and easy: you only have to remove the horse droppings with a horse droppings collector and loosen the stall briefly – done. The daily amount of manure and litter is reduced by around 70 percent. The time for your horse treasure increases by 70 percent. We assure you: Your horse loves it!
